In order to become an influencer, you’re going to need to build an audience. Your friends and family might be a good place to start, they also might be the thing that’s standing in your way. Your parents might think what you’re doing is crazy, or the thought of people you know in real life seeing what you produce might be what’s stopping you from producing your best content. One of the marketing exercises I’ve done is to think about who my ideal audience would be. In plain english, What Kind of Influencer Do You want to be?

Make A Space

Tim Ferris states that it’s much easier to create a niche than to try and take over one that has a long standing top dog. My. . . Space

A necessity for anyone trying to become an influencer, having your own website is a major advantage. Websites are very flexible and are capable of organizing content from multiple platforms into an easily digestible form. Having traffic on your website allows you to monetize your influence via online shops, advertising, and affiliate marketing. Having a website also allows you to paint a more clear picture of what your brand represents. For anyone old enough to be familiar with old school myspace, it’s kind of like.

My Recommendation

I recommend the use of wordpress because getting started is easy and it leaves room for growth. When I started blogging, I started on wordpress.com. If i had to do it over again I’d buy your own domain and hosting and installing wordpress on it. This allows you to advertise, use plugins, and more storage without having to pay for wordpress.coms hefty business plan fee.

  1. Buy a domain
  2. Buy a hosting service(These Steps Are Often Done Together)
  3. Install WordPress
  4. Edit Your Homepage

Boom you’re live with a website! Adding content like pages, blog posts, and helpful plugins is a never ending process. Getting started is the hardest part.

There are other simple website building tools like Wix. However I haven’t had much experience with them so feel free to explore.

Some Influencers Don’t Have Websites
